How to configure the Mode application settings

As a Mode Portal Admin, one of the main aspects is the ability to control and enforce IT and Security policies on how the Mode app will function for the users. Here is how to edit these Mode app settings:

  • Select the Settings option in the side menu. This will bring you to the Settings & Configuration page.
  • Select the Mode app tab on top.
  • The settings are divided and housed under four categories:
    • Security
      • Maximum password attempts
      • Inactivity period
      • Advanced brute force protection
      • Biometrics
    • Privacy
      • Read receipts
      • Typing/Recording indicator
      • Message Preview
      • Random filenames for attachment
      • Remove metadata from attachments
      • Screenshot Protection
      • Export Chat
    • Data Retention
      • Disappearing messages
      • Chat history deletion
      • Edit or delete recently sent message
      • Allow group life span
      • Allow group owner to delete group
    • Multi-Device
      • Multi-device

  • As an Admin you can either force the respective setting on the staff's app or you can allow them to change them within the in-app settings by checking the Allow changes by staff box.
